Simple X. A Plex TV Client For Apple TV might have been a port of Plex TV which was going to be coming soon but now Plex has their very own offical app for Apple TV that’s just been relased. Having just been approved you can now stream media from your own media server to the Plex Apple TV App.

If you havent used Plex before and you download your shows from the internet then you really are missing out. Plex allows you to stream pretty much any video file type to any compatible device around the house, or internet via an awesome web interface.

The design ethos has also been followed through on the Apple TV app as well. The app is gorgeous, responds well and in limited testing is just as reliable as you would expect an iOS, sorry tvOS app to be.

The Plex app is free for everyone to use and is feature rich with trailers and extras, rotten tomatoes ratings, rich media discovery, Plex music discovery, filtering and sorting and more – all at no cost

Plex Pass users will also have access to some additional premium features as well. More info here as well: https://plex.tv/appletv. Plex Pass is a very reasonable $3.99 per month.

If you don’t have Plex you should download it now and it can be found in the Purchases section of the tvOS App Store
