In the week where Apple met their own expectations, iPhone sales decline but iPad’s show some promise (finally) I’m joined by Karl and Dean (crystal.io) to talk all things Apple, Tesla and other randomness.
The gangs back together, well at least some of us are to cast our gaze upon IOS 10, Tswift vs Kwest, only 2 iPhones this year but three have been released and could Apple have made Spotify kill their free offerings. Oh yes a certain game has taken over the nation. All this and more on the essential Apple show.
So you release an app and it goes to the top of the app store charts world wide. You leave your job to become a full time developer and what happens next. This happened to Dean Murphy the developer of the content blocking app Crystal. In this episode of the Essential Apple podcast we catch up with him to see how interesting life has been since the release of his app.
Something slightly different this week. Karl and Barry take on the world of Apple stories this week in a very much unplugged version of the Essential Apple Podcast. A huge thanks to Karl for stepping in whilst I was out helping on with an Iron man weekend, not trying to be iron man… although….
Pah, who needs the regular crew to deal with the world of Apple and the tech we like when you can have GazMac from the Mymac.com podcast and Tim Robertson from the Techfan.com podcast. Discussing headphones, amazon, patents and Top Gear.
With one of our regulars working out the best placement for a lawn chair and the other riding around southern France looking for property we put together a list for guests to come on the show and ended up calling GazMaz from the MyMac show. We discuss the week after WWDC and a whole lot of other tangents as well.

No one could complain that WWDC wasn’t packed to the rafters with new features. With so much to discuss instead of our usual episode we’ve gone ahead and done a 2 parter Barry, Karl and myself discuss the points of WWDC whilst going decidedly off topic in places. Spectrum vs C64 and alternative uses for a hot tub amongst others.
We were going to go WWDC prediction bonkers but just before going live Apple announced the subscription plans for the App store. So we talk about that, Mark Gurman, press expectations, our expectations, worth a chirp and some interesting listener comments.
After yet another password breach where some lucky soul thought they bagged themselves a Amazon Prime subscription, it was finally time to put 1Password through it’s paces. The end result.. Just get it because it turns out I’m not the only fan of it on the show.

On the show this week, hot on the heels from his MyMac 602 appearance is Mr Karl Madden and all the way from his special Apple secret bunker is our resident Canadian Matt. We discuss the future of intel, the future of apple music, the rise of the machines, the need for automated beer deliveries for Karl and how Tim should of responded to wall street. Continue reading
Theres some big news for the podcast this week, bigger than should you have ribenna in a pint of Guiness. Joining me once again are Barry and Karl from the Mac and Forth show to cast an analytical eye on Apple’s world in the last 7 days. It’s the last in the line of the Rampant Mumblings Podcast but it’s not all bad news…
This week Barry and Karl join me to discuss the subscriptions we have which support our Internet usage. Apple releases a new sleeker, faster and rose gold”er” Macbook. Nemo’s hardware store and this weeks feedback (thanks Sergy), plus all of our
It’s almost like the old band getting back together. This week the collective minds of Karl and Matt from the Mac&Forth show join me to go through the Apple stories of the week, the new shiny stuff they’ve bought since the last time we were all together and a new data saving app recommendation. Think little snitch but easier to use.
